Sheldon is a quirky savant in a very ordinary family with a religious mom and a puzzled dad. Too smart for his peers, the 9-year-old Sheldon is boosted to high school, where he promptly alienates everyone.

It takes place in the late 1980s and early 1990s where Sheldon struggles to fit into the world around him while his family and friends attempt to deal with his talents as well as his challenges.
