War Horse, the National Theatre’s stage adaptation of the novel by Michael Morpurgo, tells the story of the horses sold to the army for service during WW1. To adapt the story for a stage production, the life-sized puppet, ‘Joey’ was created by the Handspring Puppet Company, brought to life by three puppeteers and choreographed to create movement and emotion.
