These remarkable pictures show the remains of two German destroyers from the First World War that have been found at the home of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth. The ships were taken were taken there after the Great War and left to rust in the mud and water. 100 years ago this week, the German High Seas Fleet was imprisoned within Scapa Flow. Eight months after the First World War ended, on 21 June 1919, the ships were deliberately sunk in the waters off the Orkney coast.
