My poor left arm! I have veins that make phlebotomists salivate! I've NEVER had problems giving blood or taking IVs in this arm. I guess now that this arm is the only option, it's grown weary! (I can't get BP or sticks in my right arm anymore!) And when you can't eat or drink after midnight before surgery, you tend to be a little dehydrated! AND my "Star Vein" has been used suh'much over the years, it is hard with scar tissue! So the big blue bruise is from where the nurse tried to start my IV,
