Lying in south central Turkey, the moonscape-y region of Cappadocia is most famous for unique geological features called “fairy chimneys” and hot air balloons. If you’re headed to Goreme’s Love Valley, one traveler’s tip is to bring hiking shoes, as the paths can be slippery, and lots of water. The walk from the bottom of valley to the top is totally worth it for the stunning views. Also note that hot air balloon rides occur at sunrise, so plan your day accordingly if you plan to watch or ride!
