A new ‘living biobank’ is set to preserve and safeguard Australia's unique wildlife from extinction. Developed by our Faculty of Science at Melbourne and Museums Victoria, it's the first of its kind in an Australian museum. Researchers will this month start collecting live cells from Australia’s unique wildlife, and cryogenically freeze and preserve their living genetic material.
