This huge male lion, known as the Mapoza male, is frequently spotted on the reserve and can be identified by his bluish-grey right eye. This milky eye is caused by congenital glaucoma, and nothing is more terrible than a poorly conducted hunt. He was most likely born with this abnormality, but it has progressively deteriorated over time.
