Shavuot is the only Festival that has no date in the Torah. We know it is 50 days after Pesach, but when we didn't have a fixed calendar, it could have been on the 5th, 6th or 7th of Sivan! Moreover, we don't know what historical event happened on this day. According to our Sages, of course, it is the day of the giving of the Torah, but the Torah makes no mention of it.
